Jean Alper
Board Member
Jean Alper earned her Master’s degree in Music Theory and Music History from the Conservatory in the former Soviet Union. She went on to enjoy a long and successful career teaching piano to students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced performers. While deeply rewarding, this work also inspired her to broaden her horizons and pursue new skills.
In addition to her musical career, Jean is a licensed real estate professional in both Texas and New York, currently serving as an Associate Real Estate Broker with Engel & Völkers Lake Placid. Her life has been enriched by living in diverse places such as Dubai, Brazil, South Korea, and Norway, and by extensive travels throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Now a full-time resident of Lake Placid with her husband Vladimir, Jean is an enthusiastic supporter of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. She believes the Sinfonietta is an essential and very important part of the Adirondack arts community and is committed to helping sustain its rich tradition for generations to come.
