Elizabeth (Betsy) Baxter
Board Member
Betsy Baxter’s love of classical music and dance began while taking ballet classes at a young age at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. She attended SUNY Potsdam where she majored in history and theater, which fostered her love for the arts even more. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Membership Committee, is a member of the Gala, and is especially passionate about supporting affordable housing for the orchestra’s musicians each season.
As a proud native of Lake Placid, NY, Betsy is currently employed at NBT Bank and proudly serves on the board of the Lake Placid Educational Opportunity Fund as well. She’s an avid reader, history enthusiast, beach-loving traveler, and she is playfully known in the Sinfonietta community for her fabulous and ever-changing shoe collection that makes an appearance at every weekend concert! She is extremely glad to have gotten involved with the Sinfonietta over 15 years ago because of her father and past president David Baxter.
