The First 100 Years
The CD is now available for purchase online and at the Lake Placid Sinfonietta office (518.523.2051). This celebratory CD will also be available at select local retail outlets, including the gift shop at the Hotel Saranac in Saranac Lake, NY. This signature CD entitled "The First Hundred Years" is a celebration of the orchestra's centennial performance season in the summer of 2017. Featuring works created in 1917--the year of the orchestra's founding--the CD also includes a work commissioned by noted American composer Michael Torke titled, "Sylvan." This evocative work in three movements is a musical visualization of three iconic Adirondack trees: Eastern White Pine, Yellow Birch and Red Spruce.
This 2001 release remains a holiday favorite for Sinfonietta enthusiasts. Featuring the lovely vocalist Nancy Davis Booth and classical music written for the winter holidays, a few copies of this iconic CD are still available for purchase at the Sinfonietta office (518.523.2051).
